The Ohio Association of School Nurses promotes optimal wellness among Ohio's school children and their communities by supporting their educational success & providing leadership, education & support for the practice of school nursing. Site includes information on awards and grants, annual conference, newsletters, legislative issues, Ohio health hearing and vision screening screening training and much more.

Help Me Grow is a program for Ohio's expectant parents, newborns, infants and toddlers that provide health and developmental services so children start school healthy and ready to learn. Help Me Grow provides the building blocks for success for Ohio's families. A site for parents as well as professionals involved in family and child issues from pre-pregnancy to school readiness.

The Ohio Ophthalmological Society (OOS) is a statewide, non-profit professional organization whose member ophthalmologists are medical doctors specializing in the complete care and treatment of the eyes and visual system. OOS is also home to the Superspecs program, which provides protective eyewear to children in Ohio and offers resources to raise awareness about the importance of eye safety. The mission of the Ohio Optometric Association (OOA) is to promote high-quality optometric care for Ohio residents, preserve and advance the profession of optometry, advocate for patients and members, and serve as a key resource for public health information related to eyes and vision. The OOA is also home to the Realeyes program, a classroom education initiative that teaches students about eye anatomy, eye safety, and common eye disorders. The mission of the Opticians Association of Ohio is to enhance the visual quality of consumers through the advancement of opticianry with educational endeavors, legislative activity and professional advancement.

The Pediatric Eye Disease Investigator Group (PEDIG) is a collaborative network dedicated to facilitating multicenter clinical research in strabismus, amblyopia and other eye disorders that affect children. The network, which was formed in 1997, is funded by the National Eye Institute (NEI).

Prevent Blindness America is the nation's leading volunteer eye health and safety organization dedicated to fighting blindness and saving sight. Prevent Blindness America serves millions of people each year through public and professional education, community and patient services programs and research. A "must see" site for information and its graphic displays.

Prevent Blindness Ohio’s mission is to prevent blindness and preserve sight. The organization provides free training, certification, and equipment to primary care providers and individuals who work with children in public schools or licensed childcare settings. This training covers how to properly conduct vision screenings for children from preschool through twelfth grade. Upon successful completion, participants receive a three-year Prevent Blindness certification and become eligible to receive a free set of vision screening equipment.

i. Save Our Sight: The focus of the Save Our Sight Fund is to support early detection of vision problems and promote good eye health and safety. When Ohioans apply for or renew their license plates, they are asked if they would like to make a monetary contribution to the fund, which is added to their fee. Money raised:

1. Protective eyewear for youth sports and school activities and preventing eye injuries
2. Support to children with amblyopia (lazy eye) through the Ohio Amblyope Registry
3. Vision screening of children through training and equipping of screeners
4. Eye health and safety programs for our schools
