The Ohio Amblyope Registry (OAR) is the first and only state wide registry for children and families with amblyopia. We provide free treatment supplies (eye patches), educational information and support to any child (under the age of 18) and their family in the state of Ohio diagnosed with amblyopia. Once a child is diagnosed with amblyopia, a registration form is completed and registers them with the OAR. Upon registration, the child receives free adhesive eye patches, educational information and compliance items to help with patching. When the child needs additional patches, the caregiver can call our office or visit our website to request additional patches. Every child, regardless of household income, can receive additional free patches during their patching treatment. The OAR team takes great pride in choosing the fun, up to date designs of the patches we provide.
The OAR is a partnership among Ohio’s Ophthalmologists, Optometrists and leading pediatric hospitals: Nationwide Children’s Hospital, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, Dayton Children’s Hospital, Akron Children’s Hospital, University Hospital Rainbow Babies and Children’s Hospital, ProMedica Toledo Children’s Hospital and Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital.
